The Intern movie house: get the look

It is 33 degrees out today which is kind of making me want to crawl back into bed. That would not be very productive and my to do list is LONG, so I am going to throw on a warm sweater and get to work. I have another “get the look” design board for you today! Have you seen the movie The Intern? Anne Hathaway’s character lives in a beautiful brownstone filled with eye candy. I’m focusing on the dining/living room, but the kitchen and primary bedroom are amazing too.

The yellow sofa is my favorite element in the room. I love the mix of styles and family friendly vibe of this space. Here is how you can recreate the look in your home.

Take Five: Breakfast Nook

I love a good breakfast nook. I am all about casual and comfortable so a breakfast nook is right up my alley. They conjure up images of slow mornings reading the newspaper while sipping orange juice and enjoying a good bagel or scone. The kitchen really does seem to be the heart of the home and I find that the best conversations and impromptu gatherings happen there. Here are a few that inspired today’s Take Five.

Don’t they look so cozy and inviting? Below are five very affordable pieces you can use to create or update your own breakfast nook.

I also chose pillows just in case you are lucky enough to have bench seating.
