Boys swimwear accessories

Ike and Ollie are both taking swim lessons this summer. We’ve done this enough times to know that organization is key to getting to the pool on time and with everything we need. I like the boys to each have a designated bag for their swim lesson gear. Zara has really cute backpacks in each of their favorite colors. Sold! I also snagged pool slides for each boy so they don’t need to sit down to take sandals on or off. Sunglasses and hats are a must for the 20 minute car ride. The less whining, the better. I like to bring robes for the boys to wear after swimming. Towels always fall off and are not as cozy as a robe. I linked all of our swim accessories below.

what to wear this summer

I am really looking forward to summer this year. Summer is probably my least favorite season, but this year there is the hope that we might be coming to an end to this pandemic. It is so exciting to think of the things we might get to do this summer! So why is it my least favorite season? The big issues are the heat, humidity, and mosquitos. I prefer not to be a sweaty, itchy mess. I also burn to a crisp the moment I walk outside. I’m pretty sure that I am part vampire. High quality sunscreen and hats make all the difference. Comfort and color were key factors when I bought a few new clothing pieces for summer. The gauze shirt is my favorite and only $20. I bought it in multiple colors. Here are some of the items I am wearing this summer, along with lots of sunscreen, of course.

Take Five: Furniture with Curves

As the world was shutting down in early March of 2020, I watched lead times for furniture increase daily. I quickly made the decision to order some pieces I had been considering and I am so glad I did. I had no idea that the long lead times would still be happening over a year later. The furniture was delivered just as Wisconsin was starting lockdown so the delivery team left the furniture outside and talked to me through the front door. My husband and I unboxed it outside while wearing gloves and masks so we wouldn’t bring the virus into the house. The only furniture that I’ve bought for my own home since then have been vintage pieces. I’m not the most patient person, but am happy to wait for something that I really love. Here are a few great pieces of furniture worth waiting for. Curvy furniture is having a moment so I chose five pieces with beautiful curves.

Shared room for little girls

It is a bedroom shared by two little girls and uses color, pattern and texture to create a cozy and interesting space that can easily “grow” with the girls. I like to use wallpaper on the ceiling instead of the walls in rooms with little children. There is always a risk a child might pick at the wallpaper or write on it with crayon or marker so putting it on the ceiling is a safer bet. I also believe in investing in quality “grown up” furniture that can be used throughout childhood or reused in another room if needed. You can bring in playful elements through accessories and art.
